Life is beautiful

Even though it can be crazy sometimes ALOT... life is so beautiful.

There's beauty in the breakdown.

What are you guys up to this weekend?

I know what I'm doing...

Curious?

You should be.  I'm cooking up an awesome little bazaar with my friend Vanessa...you know, the one with the amazing house....

Well, see, she has a garage that her husband doesn't mind letting us use.  My husband would tell me I was crazy!  He's a "tool" guy.  He loves his garage/shop.  (Which he currently can't use because all of my stuff is in the way...but that is beside the point!)

Anyway, we think Northwest Montana needs a fun monthly bazaar.  We'll have all sorts of goodies, foods, music, and fun finds!  Our first date is May 15th...with a banner to follow.

AND a name...yes, we still need an incredibly cute name for it.

Leave your suggestions in the comments, if we happen to use it, we'll send you something special!!

We're working on a promotional flyer this weekend that has to do with the table pictured above....and some numbers and letters, cause you know how obsessed I am with those...

And it will be outside....in the amazing sunshine....near a barn.....and a walking trail, so people will definitely think we've lost it, absolutely gone crazy...

And guess what...we ARE crazy! Thats what makes life so beautiful.  At least in my own head...

I'm anxious to hear what you guys come up with for our fun little weekend!!  And if you're in the area, we definitely want you to come!

I'm not dead....

I'm just preoccupied with a new lover...

mmmhm, my dreams came true and I finally got a nice camera!

I'm sorry I've been away...I'm just taking some time to figure this handsome thing out....

Fortunately, its been pretty easy....

Even though I'm mostly clueless about it....

I'm glad my friend has a beautiful house...it would look good with a disposable camera....

*sigh*

But I promise I'll be back shortly.......

Miss you all!

In Search of the Perfect Handbag...

I am picky.

I usually tend to not like many purses.

I came to realize about a year ago that there are a few criteria that must be met in order to have the perfect handbag:

SOFT.

SOFT, SUPPLE, BROWN LEATHER or EASY TO CLEAN FABRICS

NO METAL RINGS OR STUDS.

NO GAWDY BAUBLES. (those are two weird words.)

Just so you know what I'm talking about, I'll show a few right and wrong examples...

1.  Embellishments

NOT OK (for the love of all that is good, not OKAY!):

This takes that "woman who puts all the stuffed animals in the back window of the car" to a whole new level.

OK:

Subtle, tasteful, and the perfect shades for this lovely bag.

2.  Ruffles

NOT OK:

"Hefty...now for Dolce & Gabbana"

OK:

Perfect.  Just...perfect. Find it here

3.  Shape

NOT OK:

Sweet baby Ray, the idea of digging around for my chapstick in that makes me....it just....hhhhh.

OK:

Anthro's (of course) Winter Aconite Tote.  Yes please!

4.  Color

NOT EVEN MODERATELY ACCEPTABLE:

$2,270.00....'NUFF SAID.

OK:

This lil' beaut is available for sale HERE on Etsy..

Anyway.....

Someday......

I'll find that perfect bag.

Snapshots

I decided that today, I would take you inside my mom's house.  I get my affinity for decorating somewhere...and I think after you see these next few pics...there won't even be a question...

Home is based on realities...

Home is soaked in love and years....

Home is bathed in sunshine.....

Home is healed with rain and tears...

Home is where you find yourself....

Home is where you laugh with people you love....

Home is where silence speaks volumes....

and where you get spanked for being a brat...

Home is a smell you'll never forget.

Home is Christmas morning and peanut butter sandwiches...

Home is Saturday morning cartoons and sleeping in....

Home is where a good smelling candle is always lit...

Home is not the things you own....

Home is the people you hug, and love, and who make you happy....occasionally mad. :)

.....and who take care of you no matter what.

Home is poetry in motion...

Home is love.

Meet Wilson

Have you ever heard those crazy stories where people find out about homeless people living in their garage without their knowledge?

Well, there's not a homeless person in my garage.

and if there was, after the initial shock, I'd give him a hot meal and a shower...or at least I'd like to think I would....

Anyway, there's not a homeless person in my garage...but look who I found hiding in my cabinets and under my shelves, even on top of the refridgerator!

Meet Wilson.

He's about 6 months old, tall dark and dusty...

He thrives on neglect and laziness...

He also likes long walks on the beach...

In fact, here's another picture of him that will really make him real to you...

(Cause nothing says real like a big ol' moustache.......??.......)

You might know his brother.....

The decent brother...

Anyway...I tried to explain to Wilson that I just can't live when he's around...he makes me CRAZY...I just can't trust him, especially when he's in the cabinet with all the appliances.

He makes me look bad...people don't like to see us together...

So for that reason, I decided to call in his arch nemesis...

And I made a big mess looking for him....

I did manage to find him...EVERYWHERE....man does he get around...

but you know what?  As much as I can't stand him..he in some small way makes me a better person...

I painted the inside of my cabinets, reorganized all my appliances, dishes, cups, etc...

Even my junk drawer got cleaned out!  It's all ready for new junk :)

So in closing...Wilson...I guess I owe you a very small thank you...and I'll see you in 6 months.

P.S.  Stay tuned, tomorrow I'll be revealing the clean kitchen with new paint, and possibly some hardware!!  There's a concept...

I'd like to introduce...

....a friend of mine.

She's absolutely talented and is looking for some new friends.

She's also contemplating a giveaway.  See, she does amazing design work, and if she gets a few people, she'd like to give her readers a chance to win some fantastical design consultations/banners/buttons!

Here's her blog, Jessica Herbig Creative.  Go show her some love! :)

So, who won?

I bet you're just itching to find out who won! Thanks so much to all of you who entered, it really means a lot to have a great response and meet some new faces!  Without further ado, here is the winner of the cutest little retro clock on the block, and the Ruche gift certificate!

(Ok so for some reason, this number generator isn't working for me...I generated a number but when I went to click my blog post, it doesn't have it there anymore! Agh!  I knew my old drawing method was the best...but anyway, I'm going with my first generated number of 92...so lets see who that is...)

Congratulations to Kim of Mimi Charmante!

If you haven't been over to her blog, get your left (or right) finger clicking!  She's got an Etsy shop to die for, and her photography is so bright and inspiring.  I do miss the summer, and looking at her photos helps a little bit haha!

Email me to claim your prizes!

Stay tuned, I'll be back later today with some fun posts!
