Farm Chicks Weekend....

So I think I'm still slowing down my breathing from The Farm Chicks show on Saturday and Sunday.

A-MAZ-ING.

Way more intense than I had imagined, and totally better than I imagined too!

I loved meeting all the women I read and talk to so often.  The thing I loved the most was the fact that it was never awkward.  It was more like a family reunion.  So great!

Something I would also like to share, is that my truck is still loaded up.  haha!  And the back seat...and the front seat.....all my LITTLE treasures came in with me last night though.

Here are some pictures I managed to snap while running around frantically :)

So I got to meet Amber, who's pretty much the coolest.  She's such a sweetheart!  I am so glad I finally got to meet her! :)

But wait, I should back up and show you the line to get in...the line that we were somehow lucky enough NOT to be at the back of!

It goes way down there.  I heard there were about 4,000 people there!  Yeah, I forgot how I sometimes get a little anxious in huge crowds...but it was SO WORTH IT.

Also, its very challenging to take pictures while walking in....but again, worth it.

And then the absolutely fun chaos began...

Here's Vanessa's first purchase of the day! That really fun green cabinet behind her....love it!!

This is the Retreat Style booth...and it was so beautiful!  I loved the display and all the colors.  It was so awesome!

Just another shot of the Retreat booth....LOVE that enamel sink unit!

This booth is from Wild Whimsy...and I bought my amazing farm table from them at the Vintage Barn show last fall...which I can't wait to go to this year!!

Next up is Ormolulu....with that amazing coin laundry sign...that I desperately wanted...even though it would never fit anywhere in the house, except in parts.

I don't think "coi laun" would have the same effect though...

Eli was with us too, he was such a trooper!  So good all day.  Look at this face!

And this one...ha!!

He no lika-da-squash.

Then this moment was pretty high up there....:)

What a down to earth, awesome woman!  I got some amazing soaps from her booth.  I tried to snap some pictures of it, but boy it was so full everytime I went by! Suffice it to say it was BEAUTIFUL.  Heather Bullard has an amazing eye for design, that's for sure!

We paused to have a picture taken of our little group...sorry its a bit blurry.  Love that carnation truck though!! Ahh!

I was pretty much obsessed with these drawer units.  I so wish I could afford one!!!

And this was the most unique piece!  It wasn't for sale, I dont' think...but on the map, it was just labeled "Cake."  I love it.  Seriously a cool display!

Sea Fans are my new favorite thing.  I LOVE these.  I bought the coolest little bottle I'll have to take a picture of....it has a sea fan saudered to the top.  Like the Greyfreth bottles...AAAAH IN LOVE.

I'm feeling really guilty now..I'm just realizing that some of these pictures....I don't remember where they were at!  Let me know if you know, and I'll credit accordingly!

Here's what I REALLY wanted...if I had an extra 1600.00 laying around, this would have been MINE.

There are so many things in that picture that I need. :)

This was hands down my favorite booth...its where I got my sea fan bottle that I'll post pictures of later...ohhh boy.

What a fun day!

PS.....WE GOT THE FARMHOUSE!!!!!

Post & pictures to follow soon...

St. Regis Flea Market!

I have been so busy the last week.  I went to a flea market, tons of garage sales, and barns looking for things to restock the market with.  I found a lot of good stuff!  Make sure you bring your trailer to our market on June 19th!

I also found the rental of my dreams!  I only have phone pictures, so I'll wait until I have better ones to show you.  Lets just say its a 1908 farmhouse, has 3-5 acres, SEVERAL outbuildings....it's DREAMY.

We are meeting with the landlord there tonight...I think she's probably sick of me.  I kept telling her "oh I can NOT believe this house...this is just incredible!  It's me to a T!"  when I called her...

I also called back to tell her "Don't give this to anyone else! We will pay you money tonight, we'll sign papers tonight!"

Then I texted her to say "I can't stop thinking about the house, I am so excited!"

I hope she shows up today.....with me phone stalking her and all.

I even gave the stink eye to a family that was driving by to look at it while we were...I was thinking about telling them it was rented.  Or slashing their tires.  But I'm sure that wouldn't have gone over too well with the new landlord.

Anyway....I also have a 2006 Subaru Outback that i named Black Betty...well, 2 days ago she decided to say goodbye to life.  She quit on me!  The engine is totally dead!  a 2006!  Of course the warranty was up 30,000 miles ago.  SO there's that dead horse to kick.....

This flea market we went to on Saturday had about 150 vendors.  It decided to rain, so about half of those vendors decided not to show up!  Such a bummer...but here's some highlights from the day!

I can't wait to have kids so I can put these bears in their room!  Even though they have a hint of creepiness about them...
Speaking of vintage creepy, check out this old ad!

I'm sorry but this image is going to haunt me for a long time!  Are those weiners on the table next to him?  Really?!
So yeah...back to the flea market...

This was a fun conglomeration to pick through!

I'm always fascinated with boxes...and the yellow! So cute!

Dang...I should go back and get this so I can flintstone it around in style while Black Betty is out of commission...

Expect lots of these too....my newest obsession.

I thought this was a fun little picture...so much good stuff here!!!

This is the sign on the outside of Mr. Whiskers Kettle Corn.  This guy was hilarious!

This is Mr. Whiskers himself.  He also plays Santa in the winter.  Regarding his portrayal of Santa, he said "I hate kids, but then as soon as I heard how much they were gonna pay me, I said shoot!  I love kids!  Where do I get changed?"

HA.

Mom.  Isn't she beautiful?  That big fella she's smoochin' was pretty cute too!!

Let me introduce my new friends from left to right:  Onion Chives, Boxwood Basil, Cilantro, Lavendar, and Rosemary!  They're such a great addition to the kitchen!  I can't wait to make some pesto!  Now I really need to clean those windows....but I probably won't ;)

And these guys....I love succulents...

Anyway, we had a great weekend!  I better get ready to go meet the potential landlords....I can't even sit still I'm so excited about it!!!!!  Seriously!  I need to take it down a notch.

So if you're coming to the Farm Chicks show...make sure and find me! I have a special surprise for you....

You are invited to a wonderful, fun filled market tucked away in the mountains of Northwestern Montana.  Do you enjoy vintage goods at low prices?  So do we, so come down and check out our fun, handpicked and handmade selection of merchandise at the Vintage Whites Market!

(but wait there's more....)

That's just what I feel like I should say after that pitch!  Just kidding.

But it would be lovely to meet you!  Make sure to get there early as the best stuff sells quickly!

Pictures were taken by Jen Arterbury of Kalispell, Montana.  She does great work!

The dates for our remaining summer markets are:

June 19th
July 3rd
August 21st
September 18th
October 16th
Lots of good opportunities to head out!

I love that little frame! I've used it so much and in so many places.  There are so many uses for an empty white frame!

I really loved the relationships and conversations between customers and vendors!

That dresser is soooo lovely.

Tanner and I custom make these cute flower displays using a piece of barnwood and test tubes.

ADORABLE.  She got the cutest little watering can!

MMM.  Nuff Said.

The lace lampshades that Vanessa does are so cute!

Mandy makes adorable wallets and other beautifully handcrafted goodies...

This is Sandy of Sweet Notions.  She makes all the yummy baked goods and pillows like the one on my last post...

Flanders Field Soap Company handmakes goats milk soaps to benefit soldiers.  They smell and feel wonderful and are free of anything that would cause skin irritations or allergies like some soaps...

Vanessa hanging our lovely apron banner.

We hope to see you on June 19th, or any of the dates listed above!  Help spread the word by grabbing a VWM button (you should see it at the top right hand side of my blog).  You can contact us at thevintagewhitesmarket@gmail.com to inquire about market information or if you'd like to become a vendor!  Thanks for reading!

Who's going to the Farm Chicks Show?

This is going to be a very short post. No pictures.  Just one question, and it's an important one.

Who's going to the Farm Chicks Show?

I'm cooking up something special if I have enough readers who are going...so make sure and let me know!

Ok maybe just one picture...

Made by Sandy Hohf of Sweet Notions, and will be available in my Etsy this next week!

The Vintage Whites Market

Good morning everyone!  I'm still reeling from Saturday's market.  It was incredible!  Amazing finds, great prices, awesome foods, and so many wonderful people to meet!  This is definitely what gives me energy.  I think I've found my dream job....

Friday night, I painted, sanded, sprayed, sewed, and loaded up a ton of stuff. Tanner helped me so much! He's such an awesome hubby!  I couldn't sleep, so I was up until 4:30 sewing flowers and pillows.  I thought about just staying up until 6 but....those 2 hours of sleep came in handy...

Saturday, after a big ol' bagel with cream cheese, I loaded up the last little bit of stuff and headed over to the market.  We still had a few last minute things to do.  We hung our banner, drove the truck out to the road for display and put on our cute aprons!  Vanessa's mom made her some bloomers and wow...I really want a pair!  They were SO cute!

We had an amazing photographer come out for an hour in the morning, her name is Jen Arterbury.  If anyone in Montana is looking for an awesome photographer, look her up!

She will have her pictures ready for us sometime this week, but I can't wait to show you pictures!  Here are a few that I snapped with my camera during the day.  Please spread the word about the VWM to anyone you know who would be interested in coming! If you are interested in being a vendor, our vendor form is available at the website.  Just click here! No booth fee, no long term commitment, convenient set up and clean up times, and pretty much the best location ever ;)

I also want to thank Kristin from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, Karen from Sue Bees and Butterflies, and Maria from Dreamy Whites for featuring the market on their blogs.  I feel so happy to call you guys friends!  If anyone else posted about it and I didn't see, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

We had people come from Wallace, ID.  That's about 3 hours from us!  They read our feature on Maria's blog Dreamy Whites!

They were such a sweet family!  So glad we got to meet them!

Sweet Notions, our resident baker/master sewer was a total hit with both the customers and those of us who had to sit right next to them.  Lets just say I spent some of my profit on cupcakes, brioche with nutella...and a cake....which I had for breakfast yesterday.  That's just how I roll.

Our vendors brought so much wonderful merchandise!  We all made sure to shop first...of course ;)  Look what I found to add to my collection!

Aren't they adorable?!  I'm up to 6 now...I'm hoping to find enough to line my bathroom window with them like in Flea Market Style Magazine.  Figures....  They've got so many good ideas!

Vanessa redid this dresser.  Don't you just love the patina?!  I think the colors are so wonderful and coastal!  I wish I had a seaside cottage to put this in :)

Beautiful lampshades...

This is one of the pillows I made.  I will list it on Etsy today.  Currently, its on my couch ;)

Everyone brought all sorts of cool stuff!

These went really fast...and I helped ;)

And since I obviously have it in pictures, here's the finished product from this post...

Our radio cabinet is now a full wine bar!  Wine racks on the bottom, a drawer for glasses, and an upper cabinet for your linens, wine charms, etc.  I think it turned out beautiful!

I'll save the rest of my pictures for another post when we get Jen's pictures back.  I am so excited about this, and if anyone that came is reading this...THANK YOU and see you June 19th!
